Professional Packing Materials

• Acid-free tissue paper: For artwork, antique papers, old photos. Prevents discoloration.
• Bubble wrap (large + small bubbles): Layered protection. Large bubbles for cushioning, small for surface.
• Foam sheets and corner protectors: Custom-cut foam padding for irregular shapes.
• Glassine paper: Specifically for artwork — non-acidic, prevents stickiness.
• Crating wood (5-ply plywood): Custom crates for high-value items.
• Inner liners: Velvet or felt-lined boxes for jewelry, watches, fine art.
• Specialized boxes: Mirror boxes (telescoping), TV boxes, picture frame boxes.
• Indicators: Tilt indicators, shock indicators (record if mishandled).

Packing Process — Item by Item

Glassware/Crystal

1. Wrap each piece individually in 2 layers of bubble wrap
2. Place vertical (standing up) in box, not flat
3. Padding between each piece (foam or paper)
4. Box partitions (cardboard dividers) for added safety
5. Fill empty spaces with crumpled paper
6. Box marked "FRAGILE - GLASS" on all sides

Oil Paintings/Artwork

1. Cover face with glassine paper (acid-free)
2. Bubble wrap entire painting (face + back)
3. Foam corner protectors
4. Custom wooden crate (slightly larger than painting)
5. Crate lined with foam padding (no movement inside)
6. Mark "ARTWORK - DO NOT BEND" with arrows for orientation
7. Climate considerations during transit (humidity, temperature)

Antique Furniture

1. Pre-photo documentation of every angle
2. Disassemble if possible (drawers separate, glass shelves separate)
3. Wrap each part individually in furniture pads (moving blankets)
4. Stretch wrap over blankets for security
5. Reinforce delicate joints with tape (no direct on wood)
6. Custom wooden crate for high-value antiques

Mirrors/Glass Tabletops

1. Apply glass tape in X-pattern (prevents shatter spread if breaks)
2. Bubble wrap entire surface (2 layers minimum)

4. Place in mirror box (telescoping cardboard with foam lining)
5. Mark "GLASS - VERTICAL ONLY" with directional arrows
6. Always transport upright, never flat

Pianos

1. Pre-move tuning verification (current condition documented)
2. Dolly with proper weight capacity (250+ kg for upright)
3. Custom blanket wrapping (multiple layers)
4. Stretch wrap over blankets
5. 4-person team for moving (never less)

8. Post-arrival tuning (1-2 weeks acclimatization)

Documentation for Insurance

• Pre-move photos of every fragile item (multiple angles)
• Authentication/certificate copies (for art, antiques)
• Recent valuation/appraisal (within last 2 years)
• Detailed inventory list with declared values
• Receipts of original purchase (if available)
• Insurance enhancement request to mover (default GIT may not cover)
• Witness signatures on inventory (mover supervisor + customer)
